A Typical Attended Ceremony

Family members and friends will board vessel at the Marina.  Captain, crew and passengers will proceed throught the bay towards Point Loma. Exiting the bay, the vessel will head for open ocean.  When we have traveled the proper distance from shore, the Captain will turn the boat into the wind and stop (conditions permitting).  At this time the ceremony will commence.  If you wish, the family or a designated person may perform the ceremony.  Your Captain is available to assist with planning and conducting the ceremony.  If you request, the Captain will recite the Committment to the Deep or read any poems or blessings you select.  The ashes are then scattered on the sea followed by flowers.  The ceremony will be preserved by still photographs.  The exact time, date and location according to G.P.S. will be documented.  Appropriate entries are made to the Ships Log.  Upon completion of ceremony we will return to port.  Approximate time for entire trip is 2 hours.
